Hell’s Kitchen Coverage: Talk It Out

Although not much of interest is happening, these chefs are still going at each other’s throats even after a day at the races in an all new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.”

After an intro where Jackie called herself a “lesbian and bisexual girl magnet” and Ashley rejecting her (yes, that happened) it was time for the day’s challenge. The challenge was for each team to choose a protein (chicken breast, rack of lamb and sea bass) and then had five minutes to put ingredients that they want to use on the trays. Those ingredients were the only ingredients they were allowed to use. The catch was only one chef allowed in the kitchen at a time. After five minutes another chef took that chef’s place. These challenges are fun to watch because it’s one of the best ways to see how well each chef communicates.

Truth be told, both chefs did a good job communicating. Both teams also did well on all dishes, but it was tied 2-2. The bass was the tie-breaker and the Blue won it. Their reward was a day at “Santa Anita Park.” Jared was happy he won some money on horse racing because he said he “kinda” owed his brother a grand.

The Red had to spend the day butchering entire lambs. The worst idea here was to give Jackie a saw.

This was another rather uneventful reward/punishment. Although we did get Ashley and Kristin arguing over if during their mock dinner service Kristin put the steak in the oven. Sous chef Christina locked them in the pantry because that’s what she does to her nieces when they want to fight. The term here for something like that is “tough love.”

At dinner service, both teams managed to complete their service, and while the Blue was perfect the Red had some bumps. Ashley started things off with soupy risotto. She would then make another soupy risotto, forcing Ramsay to have a word with her. Now is not the time to be making a mistake like this. The Red Team could’ve finished first, but Jackie’s raw Arctic char caused them the loss.

The Red nominated Ashley and Jackie with Jackie getting eliminated.

It was a matter of time that Jackie was going to be eliminated. Either her inexperience or her Jersey girl attitude was going to do her in and good thing it was her inexperience. Ashley really isn’t that bad of a chef; she just had a few bumps here and there. Normally at this point, there are chefs who have the biggest shot of winning. This season there isn’t anyone worthy of that title.
