Review Fix: What makes So Many Fires a special album for you?
Sarah McGuiness: It’s the culmination of many years of writing, and the ultimate expression of my life in songs which reflect every mood and every experience that have got me to this point.
Review Fix: What do you expect to get out of this upcoming performance at Brighton Music Hall?
McGuiness: The excitement of being with a crowd of real music fans, the thrill of being onstage with rock and roll legends like Cherie (Currie) and the satisfaction of doing something for such a great cause (B.A.G.L.Y.)
Review Fix: What are your goals for this album?
McGuiness: To reach as may people as possible, and be the album people play when they’re driving down the freeway at night feeling emotional and like they’re in their own movie.
Review Fix: How do you want it to be remembered?
McGuiness: As the ultimately joyful fruit of an incredibly long and arduous learning curve.
Review Fix: What’s next?
McGuiness: The next one – I’ve got so many songs awaiting their outing.
But also, my long-awaited musical score which is finally being arranged and recorded. It’s a different style of course from my solo work, but it is an exciting and long-anticipated departure for me.
