Impact Wrestling Coverage: Lashley Reigns Supreme

Bobby Lashley is an animal. In a decent overall episode of Impact that heavily featured the Bound For Glory Series, Lashley proved that he was serious about defending the X-Division Championship against anyone. At this point, it’s hard to say if there’s anyone on the TNA roster that can take that title and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship away from him.

Matches:

Bound For Glory Playoff Series: Matt Hardy w/Reby Sky and Jeff Hardy vs. Ethan Carter III: The deranged Matt Hardy worked on EC3’s legs throughout the match as Carter had. Hard time getting a consistent offensive attack going until he launched himself over the top rope on Hardy who was outside the ring. Hardy bounced back however with a second rope DDT and even bit Carter. Now bloodied, Carter got a second wind but Hardy but Carter’s hand and hit the Side Effect. After a failed attempt at the TK3, Hardy continued to work on Carter’s leg, but Carter hit the TK3 to even things out. Reby then threw the hammer in the middle of the ring and although Carter stepped on it, prohibiting Hardy from getting it, Hardy but his ankle. Regardless, Carter eventually used a foreign object behind the referee’s back and hit the One Percenter for the win.

Madison Rayne vs. Gail Kim: A competitive match that saw Rayne hit Kim with nearly every move she had, including her Package Buster, but she couldn’t put her away. Although Kin took a beating she got the win with the Eat Defeat.

Moose w/Michael Bennett vs. David Starr: Although Starr got in a few strikes, Moose got the win with a wicked Discus Lariat.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion and X-Division Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Zema Ion: Lashley used his strength throughout the match and hit a rare Dominator before he actually picked up the ladder with Ion on it. Ion hit a nice Splash to the outside and a DDT to keep himself in it, but Lashley Gorilla Pressed Ion off the top of the ladder to retain the title.

Monsters Ball: TNA Tag Team Champions Decay: Abyss and Crazzy Steve vs. The Bromans: Robbie E. and Jessie Godderz w/Raquel: This was a war that proved The Bromans are for real. Although they hit the Hart Attack on Steve on tacks and Godderz locked in the Crab on them, Steve wouldn’t tap out. Abyss soon brought out Janice and although Raquel hit the Low Blow on Abyss, Steve distracted Robbie E. Long enough for Abyss to hit the Chokeslam on a barb wire table for the win.

Bound For Glory Playoff Series: Mike Bennett w/Maria Kanellis and vs. Drew Galloway: A wild one that saw Moose and Ethan Carter III get involved. After EC3 accidentally hit Galloway with a Kendo Stick, Bennett got the win with the Miracle in Progress.
