NXT Power Rankings: Joe and Nakamura Ready For War

With plenty of new faces and angles to be developed, this week’s episode of NXT was about a new page in the promotion being unveiled. Although squash match heavy, how can you complain about the announcement of a Samoa Joe/Shinsuke Nakamura title match at NXT Takeover Brooklyn?

Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see who left the first episode of NXT’s new era with something to brag about.

Honorable Mention: Kota Ibushi: His amazing performance in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic earned him a match on NXT and he took advantage, beating Buddy Murphy with a beautiful Sit-Out Last Ride.

Billie Kay: Armed with a new entrance and a chance to develop a gimmick, the beautiful Kay has a ton of potential. With a few cool Suplex and Submission variations in her arsenal and a solid Yakuza Kick finisher, the leggy Kay has the ability to move up the card.

No Way Jose: His squash win over Steve Cutler wasn’t amazing, but it’ll continue his angle with Austin Aries. How he performs against the greatest man who ever lived will be an important moment for him.

TM-61: With so many tag teams leaving NXT for RAW and Smackdown, Shane Thorne and Nick Miller have a great opportunity to establish themselves.

Shinsuke Nakamura: Everyone expected him to beat Wesley Blake this week on NXT, but fresh off his win over Finn Balor two weeks ago, Nakamura appears more confident than ever. With a guaranteed NXT title shot against Samoa Joe at Takeover Brooklyn, Nakamura is on a massive hot streak.

Samoa Joe: He’s ready for Shinsuke Nakamura, but is he ready for his mind games? Easily the best main event of an NXT event, Nakamura/Joe will be amazing.
