Review Fix: How did you guys get together?
Addison Hiller: We all met through playing in different bands in the Edmonton music scene.Â
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Hiller: Usually Spencer or I will have a rough sketch or idea of a song and bring it to the rest of the band. From there on out it’s just a collaboration between the three of us. We like to try songs out live before we record them to see what works.
Review Fix: Who influences you guys musically?
Hiller: Lots of people, our influences are constantly changing. A few staple ones would be pop acts from the ‘60s like The Beatles, and The Kinks, alongside cool modern psych bands like Tame Impala or Ty Segall.
Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of the year?
Hiller: Put out our full length album in the fall and tour Europe or Australia.Â
Review Fix: What’s the standout song here? How was it written?
Hiller: Hard to say what the standout song is. People seem to like Monica Louise a lot and it was actually first recorded as a totally different song. At the end of the day when we listened to playback we realized it totally sucked. Lincoln, our producer, made one recommendation and we rewrote the song over the weekend.Â
Review Fix: What’s next?
Hiller:We just filmed a video for Hanging from the Ceiling, we’re releasing a full length in the fall and touring internationally again.Â
