Review Fix chats with Peter Lipert of Psilocybe Games who chats about his upcoming game, “Pigsodus†and its current Kickstarter campaign. A nice blend of old-school point and click games and mini-games, it brings a cool new heartwarming character to the gaming world.

Review Fix: What games inspired this one?
Peter Lipert: Pigsodus was inspired by titles like Monkey Island, Dust: Elysian Tail, Maniac Mansion and King’s Quest.
Review Fix: What has development been like?
Lipert: It was a fun adventure. It took us half a year from concept to prototype. We had to learn and grow. The amount of work was a bit overwhelming at first. Working on the demo we’ve already reached the limitations of Unity Engine and had to write some better systems for 2D animations.
Review Fix: With all the competition on the mobile market and in the indies now, how difficult was it for you guys to try and make something that stood out?
Lipert: It is true that market is crowded but most of the games out there are really unpolished and have little or no marketing done at all. We also had a head start since our idea is quite unique and our game has no orcs inside.
Review Fix: Bottom line, why must someone play this game?
Lipert: You must play Pigsodus to know what ‘go whole hog’ really means. Seriously – you have to play the game because it tells a unique story that will stir your emotions and is beautifully drawn.
Review Fix: How do you want this game to be remembered?
Lipert: We want Pigsodus to be a milestone in video game storytelling.
Review Fix: What are your goals for this game?
Lipert: We aim to raise $30k on KS and use the budget to create about 10 hours of content. Procedurally generated areas filled with secrets, lots of mini-games, perhaps even a music level!
Review Fix: What’s next?
Lipert: Hard to say. We have to rally our supporters to fund the us, then actually make the game! It is so much work we don’t really have a plan what we are going to do next.
Review Fix: Anything else you want to say?
Lipert: Please support our project on Kickstarter!
