Wars between The New Day and Wyatt’s, John Cena and The Club and some Fourth of July fun led to an interesting episode of RAW that continues to build storylines for Battleground, even if it wasn’t as game-changing as it could have been.
Matches:
United States Champion Rusev w/Lana vs. Titus O’Neil: Rusev got the win with The Accolade, most likely putting an end to O’Neil’s push at the United States title.
Enzo Amore And Colin Cassidy vs. The Social Outcasts: Curtis Axel and Heath Slater w/Bo Dallas: A quick one that saw Enzo and Cass get the win with the Rocket Launcher.
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Intercontinental Champion The Miz w/Maryse: Ambrose got the clean win with the Dirty Deeds in an entertaining match that saw The Miz show up a lot more than anyone expected.
Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler: Naturally this was a solid match, but Rollins got the win with the Pedigree thanks to some fun counter work.
The Golden Truth: R-Truth and Goldust vs. The Vaudevillians: Simon Gotch and Aiden English: This match was meaningless and lasted less than two minutes as The Golden Truth’s winning ways continue.
Becky Lynch vs. Summer Rae: A waste of time as Lynch picked Rae apart in a match that more will remember for Rae’s scary botch following an inverted DDT.
Team USA: Devon and Bubba Ray Dudley, Jack Swagger, Big Show, Mark Henry, Zack Ryder, Apollo Crews and Kane vs. International Team: Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Sheamus, Lucha Dragons: Kalisto and Sin Cara, Cesaro, Alberto Del Rio, Sami Zayn: A wacky affair that ended when The Big Show took care of Sheamus.
