Impact Wrestling Coverage: Lashley and Rex Make Statements

Aron Rex’s debut and the utter dominance of Bobby Lashley made for an interesting episode of Impact that changes the company forever.

Matches:

The Moose and Mike Bennett vs. Eddie Edwards and Ethan Carter III: Moose and Bennett were supposed to be the more cohesive team, but Edwards and Carter worked much better together until Moose hit the Top Rope Sit-Out Powerbomb and Bennett swept in and grabbed the pin for the win.

No DQ: Gail Kim vs. Marti Bell w/Maria Kanellis and Alie: Even at less than 100 percent Kim was able to take advantage of miscommunication among Alie and Bell, getting the win with a Rollup. After the match, Jade made the save and Kanellis, pissed off, announced that Jade and Kim will face off next week.

Matt and Jeff Hardy vs. The Tribunal: Baron Dax and Basile Baraka w/Al Snow: Jeff got the win with the Twist of fate on Baraka, thanks in part to Matt’s decimation of Snow and Dax on the outside. After the match, Jeff became “broken,” delivering a handful of Twist of Fates to his opponents before springing himself through a table with a Senton Bomb.

Titles vs. Title: TNA King of The Mountain Champion James Storm vs. TNA World Heavyweight Champion and TNA X-Division Champion Bobby Lashley: Storm was a house of fire in the beginning. nearly winning with a Last Call Super Kick to start the match. But after Lashley hit a Tilt-a-Whirl Powerslam, things changed drastically as Lashley then went to work with strikes and Suplexes. But after Lashley missed the Spear, Storm hit the Sling Blade before Lashley hit the Crossbody to even things out. Storm then hit a Backtracker and the Eye of the Storm for a near-fall. With the top rope turnbuckle guard pulled off, Storm went face first in and Lashley nearly won with a Spinebuster and a Spear. Storm then rose from the ashes and hit two Last Call Super Kicks, but Lashley kicked out, again. Storm then hit a Code Breaker, but Lashley bounced off the ropes and nailed Storm with a Spear for the win to claim the King of the Mountain Championship.
