A small card and NXT Takeover Brooklyn II recap made for a thin week of NXT action. Regardless, the two matches featured do set wheels in motion and with so many great encounters in Brooklyn last week, NXT is bound to step it back up next week. Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see who has the most momentum following NXT Takeover Brooklyn II.
Honorable Mention: The Authors of Pain: Their win this week on NXT pushes them to the top of the Tag Team division. All they need is a shot against The Revival.
5: The Revival: Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder: Who can beat these guys?
4: Tye Dillinger: The fans love him and he’s got a ton of charisma, but he hasn’t been able to get out of the mid-card. Perhaps his win over Wesley Blake this week on NXT is the momentum he needs to realize his full potential.
3: Asuka: Her win over Bayley at NXT Takeover Brooklyn II puts her in a league of her own. How many have beaten Bayley, twice? Nobody, not Charlotte Flair, not Sasha Banks either.
2: Bobby Roode: He’s going to be pushed hard following his win over Andrade Almas and why not? When 15,000 people sing your theme song in your debut, it just makes sense. A star wherever he’s been, Roode is a worthy challenger to Shinsuke Nakamura, but expect him to have a few fun angles first.
1: Shinsuke Nakamura: The new NXT Champion is beloved by fans and like Finn Balor, it’s only a matter of time until he gets pushed to the main roster.
