NXT Power Rankings: Don’t Headbutt a Samoan

With just a week to go before NXT Takeover Brooklyn, this week’s NXT wasn’t nearly as exciting as you’d think it would be, but with five matches and Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura and Austin Aries appearances, the show had a ton of content.

Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see who has the most to lose leading up to Takeover Brooklyn.

Honorable Mention: Andrade “Cien” Almas: His win over Angelo Dawkins was a piece of cake for him, but his potential feud with Bobby Roode may not go as planned for him.

Don’t Forget: Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa: With an NXT Tag Team Title shot at NXT Takeover Brooklyn and their match of the year on the Cruiserweight Classic, these guys are the hottest tag team in the promotion right now.

5: The Authors of Pain: Their win over Nails and Rob Ryzin was a squash, but after the match, they took out TM 61. These guys will definitely have gold around their waists in a few months. Paul Ellering will make sure of that.

4: Bobby Roode: He’s magnetic and has the best theme in NXT. Expect huge things from Roode as he continues to develop his NXT character.

3: Bayley and Asuka: The contract signing was a bit wacky, especially because of Asuka’s issues with English, but once this gets in the ring none of that will matter. It’s going to be fantastic.

2: Shinsuke Nakamura: He spent this episode of NXT looking for NXT Champion Samoa Joe and at NXT Takeover Brooklyn, he’ll get him. Exposed in terms of his English speaking ability, NXT Creative has to find a way to keep him quiet but use his charisma. It’s not an easy job, but Nakamura is definitely cool enough to pull it off.

1: Samoa Joe: Mojo Rawley didn’t lay down for him, but Joe took care of business and proved he’s more than ready for Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover Brooklyn.
