NXT Power Rankings: Joe Returns with a Slam- On The Ring Steps

In a week of squashes and vicious feuds, The Authors of Pain and Samoa Joe left their foes in stitches and on stretchers.

Check out this week’s NXT Power Rankings to see who else got much-needed wins on this week’s episode of the WWE’s developmental promotion.

Honorable Mention: Liv Morgan: She’s cute, but she’s still uber green. Her promo skills are better than expected, but she’s got a long way to go before she can hang with Asuka.

5: The Authors of Pain: Can anyone beat Akom and Razar?

4: Hideo Itami: He’s simply been on fire since returning to NXT and with a win over Drew Gulak this week, Itami is creating a buzz for himself. After Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura finish their feud for the NXT Championship, Itami has to be a serious contender.

3: Booby Roode: Like Hideo Itami, Roode has been unbeatable since arriving in NXT. But with only one title in the promotion, Roode will have to be content with being the king of the mid-card, for now.

2: Shinsuke Nakamura: Charismatic and cool, Nakamura played with Samoa Joe’s emotions this week on NXT before he gave him his word that he’d get a title shot when he was ready. With a lack of real competition in the NXT title picture, it makes sense that “The King of Strong Style” gave the best performer another chance at the gold. Although Nakamura left this week on a stretcher, he’ll look to get the last laugh the next time he’s in Full Sail.

1: Samoa Joe: His promo to start this week’s episode of NXT was awesome. “Anything I say, I mean.” The sob story in the beginning of the show was great and the turn, although expected, was awesome. Joe just has to be a heel. He’s too goddamn big and vicious to be anything else. His Urinage Slam on the ring steps was just the cherry on top.His feud with NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura is far from over and expect Joe to do his best to add more fuel to the fire.
