Hell’s Kitchen Season 16 Episode 2 Recap: Bye Genaro

It’s a fast paced episode of “Hell’s Kitchen” with plenty of crepes and giant fish to go around. Just make sure you can keep your lunch.

As with last season, the intro played after what the chefs did the night of elimination., This night some of the guys decided to go into the hot tub completely nude. It was funny for all the wrong reasons. Gia almost got in but opted out when she saw what was going on.

Right away the chefs were put into the SUVs and sent somewhere to do their daily challenge. This time, they were sent to a raceway where Ramsay met them in a pretty hot race car. The chefs did have to race…in golf carts. The goal was to work in pairs to make crepes and then drive the golf carts around the course to present to Ramsay. The first to ten wins. This was one of “Hell’s Kitchen’s” silliest ideas ever.

It was neck and neck, but the Blue Team won. Their reward was dining on a yacht in Santa Barbera where they rode on jet skis.

For the Red, it was fish delivery day, and you all know what that means: carrying huge fish and cleaning them. Jessica was annoying the other women while they were cleaning the fish. Oh, and they had to drink pureed fish guts. Wendy and Aziza puked their guts out, Gia refused to drink it and Shaina got lucky with chocolate milk. This is one of the few times that’s happened in one of these.

The Blue’s first mistake was Aaron overdressing a salad. He would later make two pizzas that were not rolled properly. Later, Andrew forgot that he had to make scallops. Not messed up or misheard, forgot. Genaro then brought up a raw NY strip. He would then bring up two more undercooked NY strips. Ramsay even forced the Red Team to take over and kick the Blue Team out.

In the Red, Gia was supposed to be on fish, but she decided to check on the desserts and even asked Ramsay if she can make more pudding. Who does that in “Hell’s Kitchen?” Kimberly brought up two raw lambs. She thought they were under but put them up anyway.

The Blue nominated Genaro and Aaron with Genaro getting the boot.

This is déjà vu. The Blue Team starts off horrendous and the Red Team does well. It’s to be expected from this series. At least some of the gross stuff got out of the way this episode. Of course, there will be more of that in the coming episodes.
