Review Fix Exclusive: Inside Dragon’s Cry

Review Fix chats with game developer Matej Vančo, who discusses his beautiful indie adventure, “Dragon’s Cry.” With a release date on Steam still unknown, there’s plenty of mystery around the game, but it’s serene visuals and sound make it one of the most interesting indie games of 2016.

Review Fix: What games inspired this one?

Matej Vančo: We have been inspired by a lot of games. For example: Skyrim, The Journey, God of War. We tried to mixed up all these games meantime we were thinking about the game atmosphere and story.

Review Fix: Lets talk about the art. What inspired that?

Vančo: We wanted to be original. We specially made a new atmosphere for the game. It’s red in color, but at the final point you will be able to change the color atmosphere. So you can be creative. We chose red because it is an unusual and dramatic color.

Review Fix: What has development been like?

Vančo: The development was a little bit longer and harder that we expected. It took a long time to work only on single scene. But we believed we will make it through together.  We’ve had a long time to develop. We hope that the game will be successful on the online game market.

Review Fix: With all the competition on the mobile market and in the indies now, how difficult was it for you guys to try and make something that stood out?

Vančo: It isn’t difficult. You just need a cool thumbnail, header and title to attract people. People will check out the game, they will try it and have own opinion. We really try to do our best. But it also depends on each personality. Every human is different and every human has own interests, so that’s everyone’s problem.

Review Fix: Bottom line, why must someone play this game?

Vančo: We want to show that indie developers are not losers. With great teamwork, handy and clever people and community, we can make something incredible like this. We believe that the game will be featured on the global game market.

Review Fix: How do you want this game to be remembered?

Vančo: As an ambient, relaxing game with action. You just have to play it to understand.

Review Fix: What are your goals for this game?

Vančo: As you maybe know, we are a very young studio, so we want this game to make us more popular and also to let know people know about our unusual creations.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Vančo: We are preparing the game for a Steam release. We are really happy for everyone’s support. The official game release is not released yet- it will be released soon as it will be decided by team.
