Hell’s Kitchen Recap: Bye Johnny

Ballroom dancing takes a lot of grace, finesse and style. It’s a shame that none of those qualities are present in the Blue Team in this episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.” This team really does have two left feet.

Once again, there was music playing in the dining room (his season should be called “the music season.”) this time, there were people dancing. This was because that dinner service “Hell’s Kitchen” was going to host for the first time the “International Ballroom Invitational.”

There were also two special guest judges this episode. From “So You Think You Can Dance” Jonathan Roberts and from “A Chorus Line” Michelle Johnston. Each team had to make two beef, two chicken and two fish dishes for the judges to taste. The best overall dish went on the menu that night and the team with the most points won. The winners were Wendy (chicken,) Kimberly (fish, and Ryan (beef.) which meant the Red Team won.

Their reward was kayaking in “Santa Barbara Mountains” and lunch at “The Lark.” Watching Andrew crash into everything made this part of the show.

The Blue had to shuck shellfish and lobster for a raw bar. Wendy had a bit too much fun killing lobsters. She enjoyed it to the point that it was scary.

During dinner service, while the only mistake on the Red was Matt burning scallops, the Blue had yet another terrible service. That’s starting to sound like a broken record.

Johnny started things off by sending up raw fish. The bigger problem was that none of the fish was seared, which caused Ramsay to go into the Red kitchen to show them that they sear fish. Also, while the Red were serving dessert, the Blue was still cooking entrees. Ramsay had to once again bring them into the storeroom. Ramsay decided to throw the team out again and make the Red finish the Blue’s service.

The Blue nominated Paulie, Johnny and Wendy with Ramsay eliminating Johnny.

Ramsay eliminating Johnny was one of the best moves this season. Not searing off the fish really destroyed the Blue’s chances of winning. This also proves once again that this season’s Blue Team sucks with someone on the Red team looking more and more likely of winning this season.
