Impact Wrestling Coverage: Thanksgiving, Impact Style

Food fights, amnesia and a wonderful match between Eli Drake and Ethan Carter III this week on Impact made sure everyone left the Thanksgiving episode with something to smile ag=bout. Although a bit thin on in-ring action, this week’s episode was a solid one.

Matches:

X-Gold Elimination Match: DJ Z, Braxton Sutter and Mandrews vs. Rockstar Spud. Decay: Abyss and Crazy Steve vs. Trevor Lee, Andrew Everett and Marshee Rocket: Abyss was ejected early as he refused to stop beating on Mandrews, who was then eliminated by Crazy Steve with the Dragon Sleeper w/Scissors. Everett then eliminated Steve with Loonsault, while Z got the pin on Everett with the ZDT. Sutter then eliminated Lee with the Little Jimmy. Rocket then put away Spud with a Rock Bottom, but couldn’t do the same to Sutter, who then hit the Little Jimmy for the win.

Drake’s Voice vs. Title Shot: Eli Drake vs. Ethan Carter III: This was perhaps the best match on Impact this year as EC3 kicked out of the Blunt Force Trauma, while Drake kicked out of the One Perfecter. Both brought it in ways that fans didn’t expect as EC3 used the Frog Splash and Drake was great working the mic. EC3 eventually got the win with the Sleeper w/Scissors.

Al Snow and Mahabali Shera vs. The Tribunal: Baron Dax and Basile Baraka: Shera hit the Sky High and Snow nailed the Snow Plow, but they didn’t get the win, via DQ, until Baraka used a foreign object.

Turkey Suit Match: Robbie E. vs. Grado: A wacky one that saw Robbie get the win on a Counter of a pinning combination into one of his own.

No DQ: DCC: Bram W/James Storm And Eddie Kingston Vs. TNA World Tag Team Champion Jeff Hardy: Kingston and Storm beat on Hardy on the outside as Bram kept him on his toes inside. But whenever Hardy mounted any offense, the rest of the DCC got involved. Hardy eventually took care of Storm with the Whisper in the Wind and hit Bram with a Twist of Fate and a Twist of Fate, but Storm got involved again, allowing Bram to hit the Brighter Side of Suffering for the win.
