Hell’s Kitchen Coverage: Playboy Edition

Take it in, fellas. An episode of “Hell’s Kitchen” featuring “Playboy” bunnies is one hot ticket. Too bad these chefs couldn’t take the heat and no amount of time in the “Playboy Mansion’s” grotto can fix that in an all new episode.

With te Red choosing Ryan to go to the Blue Team, this episode’s challenge was each team had to make a variety of sliders using different proteins including seafood, lamb, beef, pork and poultry. Of course, there was a catch: They had to slide into a ball pit and grab a ball that corresponds to their team color and use whatever ingredient is written on it. Andrew took way too long to get his ingredient, which gave the Red Team less time to cook.

To help judge the challenge were the creator of “Umami Burger” Adam Fleischman, the creator of “Father’s Burger” Sang Yoon and the creator of “Gordon Ramsay Burger” Season 10 winner Christina.

It was here that Matt showed why he should be eliminated. He had an attitude towards the judges because he said his sliders were like a lobster roll and the chefs said sliders and lobster rolls were different. Again, for a guy who says he’s from the military, he lacks discipline. His burger lost to Paulie’s burger.

It was tied 3-3 with Heidi’s burger picked as the best overall burger and the tie-breaker. The Red’s reward was a day at the “Playboy Mansion” and they were escorted there by Crystal Hefner. No, those weren’t typos. The guys, obviously, had the best time, especially when they were in the grotto.

The Blue Team had to spend the day cleaning up litter by the LA River. Little happened here. Not as interesting as seeing a much of “Playboy” bunnies doing their thing.

At this dinner service, there were chef’s tables. Melissa Rivers from “Fashion Police” TV producer Drew Scott were in the Blue Kitchen and Drew’s brother Johnathan and actress Ashley Greene in the Red. The dinner service was about as hectic as you’d expect at this point.

The Red ‘s troubles started with Matt bringing up an overcooked lobster tail. They continued because of Matt’s attitude. There really is no other way of saying it. Ramsay even had to send the entire team in the pantry to cool off and talk it over. After that, Heidi’s risotto was under seasoned and Kimberly’s beans were too dry. The entire team was thrown out.

Ryan started things off in the Blue by bringing up cold crab cakes. At entrees, Wendy stopped communicating and her chicken was pink. This was for the chef’s table, by the way. She would later overcook a NY strip, causing the Blue Team to, you guessed it, get kicked out.

Both teams were kicked out this episode. This is the season’s turning point.
The Red nominated Matt and Kimberly and the Blue nominated Wendy and Shaina. Ramsay eliminated Shaina and Matt.

Matt had to go. Someone who said he was in the military, an organization where discipline is everything, Matt didn’t have any. He got angry way too easily and he was too closed-minded when it came to criticism. Shaina was a lot more tolerable, but she did make way too many mistakes.
