Review Fix chats with The World Over’s Tiaday Ball, who discusses the band’s new album, “Mountains,†detailing their goals for 2017 and creative process.
Review Fix: How did the band get together?
Tiaday Ball: So The World Over was created in 2013 by founders Xavier Moreux (France), Ryan Knecht (California), Anthony Dellaripa (Connecticut), Eric Gledhill (Boston) and myself (Tiaday, Hawai’i) who had all moved to Los Angeles from around the world with the mutual goal to make music. Donovan Allen (Coachella, bassist) later joined us in 2015 after Eric’s departure. Together we conceptualized a band that could represent many different cultures and promote messages of hope and empowerment! Continuity is important even though the name may not have the same meaning as when we first originated.
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Ball: We just dick around. Nah, jokes aside…For “MOUNTAINS” specifically, we spent a lot of the time recording demos at Ryan’s studio either jamming ideas acoustically, writing over vocal melodies or going off of other recordings we did on our own. After we collected the demos that we knew we definitely wanted on the album, we flew to Canada to work with Siegfried Meier (Kitty, DMX) at Beach Road Studios!
Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?
Ball: We’d like to think that our self-titled song “MOUNTAINS” off the new album is probably the most “standout” song. You can check out our lyric video for it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTx_aSn-ckw

We will also be releasing an official music video for the “MOUNTAINS” song within this month, so stay tuned for that.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2016?
Ball: We’re mainly focusing on promoting our new album, “MOUNTAINS” (out on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, etc.), and getting ready for our tour in December!!
We will be hitting up AZ, NM, CO, WY, UT, ID, WA, OR, NV and CA and will release the exact dates soon.
This tour is to promote our new album so get yours here:Â https://itunes.apple.com/album/id1146557304
Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?
Ball: Since music is a form of art…if it invokes any emotions in people at all, then I believe we’re doing our jobs right! But we’d hope it affects people for the better, as anyone should hope.
