Hell’s Kitchen Recap: Bye Kim

It’s down to the final six and black jacket time. That also means that chef Ramsay has plenty of challenges to choose who’ll get these black jackets in an all new episode of “Hell’s Kitchen.”

As is normal at this point in the season, Ramsay has flown in family members of the chefs. One of them was Andrew’s girlfriend which is awkward seeing how Andrew and Heather were flirting throughout the season. Andrew’s girlfriend won’t like seeing this season.

Ramsay did something different this season. Instead of the usual dinner service, there were three rounds where a chef had to cook a dish based on whatever challenge that round had. The top two in the first two rounds got their black jackets and only one chef got it in the last round. This is a much better idea than just a normal dinner service. This brings out a chef’s skill much better. ‘

The first round had the chefs only getting one ingredient at a time whenever Ramsay would ring a bell a lift up a dome. Basically, it was grab whatever you can get and it was a riot seeing these chefs scramble to grab an ingredient. The first two get their jackets were Heidi and Heather.

For the first time, there was a “black jacket lounge.” It sounded like a joke at first, but there actually was a lounge with an open bar, snacks and even “Jenga.” Ramsay just keeps coming up new ideas every month.

In the second round, each chef was given a lockbox and they had to cook a dish using every ingredient. The top two here were Ryan and Paulie. It should be noted that here everyone wanted Andrew to win. The hatred for Kimberly was astounding.

The final round Ramsay had a farmer’s market where both chefs had to make two portions of whatever they wanted. Andrew made a NY Strip and Kimberly made a filet mignon. Now, the reason Ramsay told them to make two portions was because the other chefs also had a say in which dish was better. Heather Paulie chose Kimberly’s fillet and Heidi and Ryan chose Andrew’s NY strip.

That was how close this round was, but Ramsay chose Kimberly because of Andrew’s puree.

As predicted, only one member of the original Blue Team is left. Paulie is the wild card here since the other chefs are better than he is. It would be a shock if he wins this season seeing everything he did. Heather and Ryan have much higher chances of winning, but of course, anything can happen.
