Review Fix Exclusive: Loose Buttons’ Eric Nizgretsky Talks New EP And More

Review Fix chats with Loose Buttons’ Eric Nizgretsky, who discusses the band’s current EP, origin and goals for the future.

Review Fix: How did you guys get together?

Eric Nizgretsky: After years of being infatuated with each other’s respective talents, we decided to man up and embark on a polygamous relationship. To this day it has been the best decision I have made.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Nizgretsky: Our creative process is pretty simple, it all stems from an initial idea that one of us brings into the room. From there we all put our touch on it and turn it into a Loose Buttons song.

Review Fix: What do you think makes this band special?

Nizgretsky: I think what makes this band special is that at the end of the day, we are just four everyday New Yorkers who enjoy playing music together. This band isn’t a chore and we legitimately do it because we love each other and enjoy playing music together.

Review Fix: How would you describe your style?

Nizgretsky: Good Ol’ Fashion New York City Indie Rock.

Review Fix: What are your goals for this EP?

Nizgretsky: To make people feel some sort of emotion while listening to this EP. If we get them to love us enough to come out to a show, then we have succeeded.

Review Fix: What’s the standout song? Is there a story behind it?

Nizgretsky: Each member has their own favorite song, for me it might be “Am I the Only Reason?”. It was the first time lyrically I felt that was able to look inward and say “Shit, I really fucked up here.”

Review Fix: What’s next?

Nizgretsky: Reach as many people as possible with this EP and get back into our little studio to work on our debut album.
