Review Fix Exclusive: Nukem All’s Steve Brogden Talks ‘Evelyn’s Awakening’ And More

Review Fix chats with Nukem All’s Steve Brogden, who discusses the band’s origin, standout single and goals for the future.

Review Fix: How did you guys get together?

Steve Brogden: We are just a group of like minded individuals in the San Diego area that just want to play thrash. We have all been in Different bands in town and have all been friends for years.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Brogden: For the most part, I come to practice with a hand full of riffs that will make up a song. We then flesh it out as a  band to make it Nukem. Sometimes the best parts come out of someone making a mistake.

Review Fix: What do you think makes this band special?

Brogden: Our honesty. A lot of bands try really had to be something. Or they try to be as different as possible. We just let it flow and do what we know how to do best. And that seems to come out as Thrash Metal haha

Review Fix: How would you describe your style?

Brogden: No tricks. No frills. Just pure thrash.

Review Fix: What are your goals for this album?

Brogden: To reach as many metal heads as possible. We know that we have something special. It just needs to find its way to you.

Review Fix: What’s the standout song? Is there a story behind it?

Brogden: I think that would be our single “Evelyn’s Awakening.” We almost weren’t sure if we could pull off a song that is so rock and roll. But it totally worked. Total Motörhead vibe.  My personal favorite.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Brogden: Currently we are seeking booking agents for Europe and we hope to cross the pond this year. We are about 4 songs into the next record as well. Thanks for taking the time to read this and we hope to play for you all soon.
