Review Fix Exclusive: Drops of Heart’s Vadim Nizamov Talks Creative Process And More

Review Fix chats with Drops of Heart’s Vadim Nizamov, who discusses the band’s origin, goals, creative process and goals for the future.

Review Fix: How did the band get together?

Vadim Nizamov: First of all, we played in other bands together before. Our Drummer Artem and I met each other and started to play together when we were in school. And Den, our vocalist, sang in a band where I was the bass player few years later. He offered Me the idea of resuming the activities of the once-dead band. The name was left the same, everything else completely changed, from line-up to all the components of music

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Nizamov: Our band has two songwriters, and they are our guitarists – Myself and Igor. Our Music is written by several people very rarely, usually it is done separately. And Den writes lyrics with my help.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?

Nizamov: It’s called «Мой Май» (“My May”), and it was the first song we composed after the reunion in 2013 and released in 2014 as the first single of album «Новая Надежда» («New Hope», 2014). It was like an experiment, a first experience within the new band. Amiazing, but Мой Май became the most popular song in our live concerts and remains so toda

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2017?

Nizamov: We just finished the work on the songwriting of a new album. And 2017 will be full of recording sessions, work on some details, and development of songs arrangements. We have a lot of work we have to do this year, so, we will not be bored.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Nizamov: We want our music to bring the ideas it carries, to inspire people and prove that people in Russia know how to play high-quality metal.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Nizamov: Our main goal is a strong, competitive album which will be able to take an honorable place in the world of heavy music
