Review Fix: How did the band get together?
Andrew Goodwin: We all knew each other from playing shows together in different bands the Niagara music scene is kind of like a close family. We always had fun playing together and all were looking to start up a new project at the same time. a mutual friend of ours put us in touch and we clicked from there! From the first time we rehearsed together we have always had amazing chemistry and love to have fun together which makes for some crazy times!
Review Fix: What makes you guys special?
Goodwin: We feel the thing that makes us special is our live show! We love to put on high energy shows that the crowd can get involved in and really have a great time. we like to put on a show rather than just a concert.
Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who’s never heard you?
Goodwin: Summer! Other than our slower ballads our music is meant to be listened to loud and with the windows down! Turn it up and have a good time. we would consider our selves an up-beat pop band. We love what we do and it shows in our music it certainly has a feel good vibe and hopefully it can bring some joy to someone somewhere along the way.
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Goodwin: We love to collaborate with other writers/producers/musicians! You can never have too many people to bounce ideas off of and get a second set of ears to hear something. We usually dedicate specific time to writing so we can stay focused and write more meaningful songs. For us its all about how often can we write, writing is kind of like turning on a tap, when you first turn it on you get all the rusty water that isn’t any good. But when you let it flow you get the good clear water. The more you write the better your writing gets, but you have to get through the not so good stuff first to get it out of your system.
Review Fix: How was your standout song written? What inspired it?
Goodwin: We had just finished a song for our EP called “Changes” which is a very emotional song and it took a lot out of us to record it. We wanted to write something really up-beat and that felt like summer. We got together with another co-writer that we do a lot of work with and started just writing down lyric ideas and within an hour we had the rough idea of our first single “Just One Night.” We took the rough draft to Paul Gigliotti to produce it and the rest is history Paul was a blast to work with and is super talented!
Review Fix: Speaking of inspiration, what bands inspire you guys?
Goodwin: Any band who wants to make a difference in the world with their music is someone we look up to. We are very fortunate to be able to work with some of the most influential bands and artists on this EP we were able to work with Members of Glass Tiger, and Hedley, Chubby Checker, Dean Maher (AC/DC, Elton John) and Andrew Mactaggart (Steven Tyler). To be able to have the support from some of the top people in the industry is simply amazing.Something that is really inspiring for us being from Canada is how well Canadian music is doing globally from Justin Bieber, the Weekend Shawn Mendes, Drake we are very prideful of where we came from and hope to be heading in the same direction as some of these artists
Review Fix: What are your goals?
Goodwin: Our goals are just to take music as far as it will go meet as many people in as many different places as we possibly can. Being able to make a difference in the world in even a small way by doing something we love is the end goal for us. We feel very lucky to be where we are and already done some really cool things while our music careers are in their infancy and we just want to keep pushing ourselves to do bigger and better things.
Review Fix: What do you think you have to do to have your music reach more people?
Goodwin: We feel if we are passionate about our music our fans will be too, word of mouth is the best way to spread anything! if we keep writing music that we enjoy and keep putting out content then hopefully our fans will join us for the ride and we can spread it to as many people as possible!
Review Fix: What’s next?
Goodwin: We have a busy few months here at camp IGTG, we are filming a couple of music videos and getting ready for our EP release show. For us this EP is for anyone who has supported us over the years despite the fact we have yet to release music until now. Our EP release show is going to be one for the books its going to be the first show we have full creative control and get to put on the kind of show we want to and the kind of show our fans deserve. After that we are planning our full length album and hope to follow that up with a tour!
