WWE RAW Coverage: Roman Fails

The WWE is a work of fiction, but the line has to be drawn sometimes. While the setup for No Mercy worked as several title matches and angles were set up solidly, the Roman Reigns/John Cena match is a disaster. Why was Cena not on RAW? Why is Corey Graves calling Reigns an Icon? Why is Reigns continually force-fed down viewers throats? Where is Samoa Joe? Why is this show still so goddamn mediocre?

Matches:

RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax: Bliss was dominated as Jax won with the Samoan Drop, while Sasha Banks provided a distraction. After the match, Bayley returned and Banks, Bliss and Bayley took Jax out before Bliss was nailed with the Belly-to-Bayley.

WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs. The Bar: Sheamus and Cesaro vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson: Ambrose and Rollins did all the work, as Ambrose hit Anderson with the Dirty Deeds, but Sheamus was smart enough to steal the win.

Apollo Crews w/Titus O’Neil vs. Curt Hawkins: Crews squashed Hawkins with his Powerbomb variation.

Dustin Rhodes vs. Bray Wyatt: Although Rhodes hit the Shattered Dreams, Wyatt eventually won with the Sister Abigail. Finn Balor soon hit the screen so these two could have one more visual bout before No Mercy.

Gran Metalik vs. WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville: Toying with Metalik, Neville got the win with the Rings of Saturn.

Six-Pack Challenge for Intercontinental Title Shot: Jason Jordan vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy vs. Elias Sampson vs. Bo Dallas vs. Curtis Axel: Although Jordan got the win with his Modified Neckbreaker finish on Axel, The Mis and company got the last laugh as they destroyed Jordan after the bell.
