Hell’s Kitchen All-Stars Episode 14 Recap

It’s the final four all-stars, and Ramsay has a lot in store for these chefs to get into the final in the penultimate episode of “Hell’s Kitchen All-Stars.”

Before anything, Ramsay gave Milly a little pep talk. It boiled down to “don’t get arguments. You’re better than that.” That’s some sound advice. Hell, Milly is better than he lets on.

As with previous seasons, these final four get reunited with their families. This time, the dining room is decorated with Christmas decorations. You know, Ramsay does come up with amazing ideas, and using Christmas as a way of saying your families are presents is one of them.

Speaking of presents, there were four real presents that each chef had to choose and each contained ingredients. The chefs had 45 minutes to create three portions. Benjamin had salmon, Nick had filet mignon, Michelle had venison and Milly had lobster.

To help judge these dishes were the chef’s families. Michelle and Benjamin’s dishes each got three points with Ramsay giving the tie-breaker to Benjamin. His reward was quality time with Ramsay in his Ferrari through LA and Malibu Mountains. Benjamin also had lunch with his family while Ramsay just up and left.

The other chefs had to wash the “Hell’s Kitchen” SUVs and take down the Christmas decorations. Not much happens here.

This episode is where each chef proves they can run the pass and can catch the mistakes that the sous chefs prepared for each of them to prove how good their eyes are. First up was Benjamin. He caught that the carbonara was made with spaghetti instead of fettuccini but failed to catch the carrots instead of butternut squash in the risotto.

Next up was Milly. He failed to find that the Wellington needed pork when a guest asked for none. He did catch that the risotto needed lobster instead of shrimp. Michelle kept messing up the garnish here. Ramsay even confronted her to see if she was sabotaging Milly.

At Michelle’s turn, she caught that Christina did not bring up spinach but failed to catch that the NY strip was replaced by ribeye.

Finally, Nick did not catch that the pork chop was a veal chop and caught that Christina brought up creamed spinach instead of creamed leeks. Michelle, still messing up, brought up duck sauce instead of lamb sauce. This was the wrong time for Michelle to crash and burn. Not to mention Milly brought up an egg that was overcooked.

After dinner service, each chef had to choose one chef hey felt should compete alongside them. This was odd because the only ones Ramsay asked were Milly and Benjamin who shoes nick. The other two said why they deserved to be in the final. The first chef NOT going to the finale was Milly. As for the final two, Ramsay threw another bombshell: this season marked the first time THREE chefs were going to the finals.

Does the idea of three chefs going to the final sound like a cop-out? You bet it is. To be honest, Michelle does belong in the final but the other two have shown that they do too. With the two-hour finale coming up, having three finalists will be crazy. This finale better be something grand if three chefs are in it.
