Review Fix Exclusive Queens World Film Festival Coverage: Inside ‘Starlit’

Review Fix chats with “Starlit” director Andrea Ocampo who details the creative process behind the film ahead of its debut at this year’s festival.

Review Fix: What was the inspiration for your film?

Andrea Ocampo: I love nature, hiking and making movies and Starlit gave me the perfect opportunity to explore the two… I would totally do it again!

Review Fix: What did you learn about yourself while making?

Ocampo: I had to face my own demons… fears that have been with me my whole life… in finishing my first film I have conquered quite a few of those fears and it’s a great feeling.

Review Fix: What was the most challenging part of making it?

Ocampo: It had already been started and was like finishing a puzzle. Challenging but so much fun!

Review Fix: How do you want it to be remembered?

Ocampo: I want folks to feel good and inspired when they leave the theatre.

Review Fix: How does it feel to be a part of the festival?

Ocampo: It has been an amazing experience thus far and we haven’t even screened yet! I am so so grateful.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Ocampo: Looking for my next project. Bring it!

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Ocampo: If it weren’t for festivals like the Queens World Film Festival charming little gems like Starlit would not see the light of day! Support your local film festivals.
