Review Fix Exclusive: Karmic Talks ‘Warriors’ And More

Review Fix chats with Karmic’s Laura Baruch and Kylee Katch, who discuss their new single, Warrior, as well as their origin, goals, creative process and more.

About Karmic:

The powerhouse ladies of Karmic debut a whirlwind of energy on their brand new single, “Warriors.” The electric-pop band comprised of vocalists Laura Baruch and Kylee Katch, featuring producers Samuel Murphy and Peter Kastner of Bad Owl Records are known for bending sounds and toeing the genre lines.

Review Fix: How did the band get together?

Laura Baruch: Three of us met at music school in Los Angeles and have been really close ever since. We all came together for a writing session and the rest is history.

Review Fix: How did you get involved in music?

Kylee Katch: We were all drawn to music from a very young age and knew that this what we wanted to do. It’s definitely in our blood. We were all born to do this.

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Baruch: It really depends on the song. We all have our own process but when we all get together in a room, it just immediately starts to flow. Everyone puts in their own color and unique sound.

Review Fix: What inspires you?

Katch: Nature, art, artists, movies, the people in our lives, and what’s happening in world.

Review Fix: What makes “Warriors” a special track?

Baruch: It was inspired by this female movement that is happening right now. Having a female fronted band, this song is very close to our hearts. We are just so grateful to be apart of this revolution and want to help spread the message world wide.

Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you?

Katch: Energetic, positive, corky and fun.

Review Fix: What is Electric Pop?

Baruch: Good beats with catchy hooks and sounds.

Review Fix: How are your live shows different from your studio work?

Katch: We are very lucky we have such talented musicians and singers that can actually perform live and sound tight. We have a lot of fun in the studio but getting that high from performing and feeling the energy from the audience is pretty magical.

Review Fix: What are your goals for 2018?

Baruch: Keep playing live, writing, recording and planning our next tour.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Katch: We have a warriors video in the works and our new single is going to come out after that.

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Baruch: We are just really grateful to be able to do what we love and hope our music inspires others to do the same
