Impact Wrestling Coverage: Aries and Company Ready for Anything

This whole mafia stuff going on with LAX on Impact was weird, but the in-ring action was solid, as was the return of Johnny Impact and the show of strength by Austin Aries and company. With Bound for Glory about a month away, there’s plenty of creativity around the brand and there’s no doubt that it’s no longer a waste of two hours every Thursday.

Matches:

Rich Swann vs. Petey Williams: A fun opener with plenty of athleticism. Williams got the win with the Canadian Destroyer with Matt Sydal watching from the stands.

Desi Hit Squad: Gursinder Singh and Rohit Raju w/Gama Singh vs. Grado and Joe Hendry w/Katrina: After Hendry got taken out on the outside the Squad hit the Running Knee/Sky High Combo. After the match, Katarina turned her back on Grado and kissed Hendry, but Hendry stayed loyal to his buddy.

Eli Drake vs. Stone Rockwell: Drake quickly won with the Gravy Train. The interview before the match wasn’t entertaining either.

Impact Knockouts Champion Tessa Blanchard vs. Su Yung: Blanchard won with the Hammerlock DDT on a counter of Yung’s finisher, but after the match, Yung got the last laugh and hit her finish anyway, but Keira Hogan and Allie made the save before things could get really bad. Blanchard wasn’t too happy for the help however.

Zachary Wentz and Ace Austin and Trey Miguel vs. oVe: Sami Callihan, Jake Crist and Dave Crist: Went and company looked great, but Callihan and Company got the wild win with the Doomsday Cutter. After the match, Callihan hit the Foley Driver and then talked smack about Fenix and Pentagon Jr.
