NXT UK Coverage: Bate is Ready

The UK division boasts incredible depth and versatility. Last week, NXT UK started hot with a hard-hitting and competitive main event. The future is bright for many of the young stars on the roster and the potential for the brand is limitless. Special mention for Zack Gibson. The man is brilliant at drawing heat from the crowd and can go far as a heel in WWE.

Matches:

Ligero vs. Mike Hitchman: Both men got in some solid offense in this David versus Goliath type bout with the crowd firmly behind Ligero. Ligero picked up the win with a Tornado-DDT.

Dakota Kai vs. Killer Kelly: The crowd was split for this one as Kai played the babyface in peril. Kelly dominated for the beginning of the match until Kai was able to rally back and hit some offense. Capitalizing with a barrage of kicks and the Kai-De Gras, a modified Code Red into an Inverted Back Stabber.

After the match Kai cut a promo declaring her determination to win the NXT UK Women’s Championship, and that she wasn’t afraid to kick anyone’s head off if they stood in her way.

Ashton Smith vs. Tucker: An excellent example of British Strong Style with both men hitting stiff offense all match long. After trading brutal strikes, Smith eventually got the three-count with The Ash Cloud, a ripcord DDT.

Tyler Bate vs. Wolfgang: The only word to describe Bate is “prodigy.” At only twenty-one years old the young-gun is beyond his years in terms of work-rate and drawing power. The match was a fun one with Bate’s antics and Wolfgang’s calm demeanor making an exciting dynamic. Wolfgang’s strength would keep Bate down for the beginning of the bout, but Bate’s babyface fire eventually became too much for The Last King of Scottland. After Wolfgang whiffed a Senton Bomb, Bate was able to hit the TylerDriver97 for the pinfall victory.
