Review Fix Exclusive: Rozu’s Tim Graham Talks ‘Faceless’ And More

Review Fix chats with Rozu’s Tim Graham who discusses the band’s track, “Faceless,” as well as their origin and creative process.

Review Fix: How did this project come together?

Tim Graham: Rozu came together with myself (vocals) and DJ Sundine (guitar) having this idea and vision for a band that just releases a lot of content and wanting to just write and continue writing. We put together a batch of songs back in 2017 and then decided to find the right members with similar drive and experience, being Henry Navarre (bass) and Brian Robertson (drums). From their we all just started writing and wanted to get all this content and material together before even speaking a word about the project.

Review Fix: `What’s your creative process like?

Graham: We all have these different influences and we are a diverse band when it comes to our writing, so it kind of depends on the day. We just want to write music we want to write at that specific time so if we want to write a heavy ass song we’ll do it and then some days we wanted to write a beautiful acoustic song Just getting into the studio and creating art with a group of good like minded people is the best thing ever and we don’t want to constrict ourselves to a “specific” sound. You might hear something different from the previous song but you still know it is a Rozu song which is really cool.

Review Fix: What’s your standout song?

Graham: I think out of the two songs we have out Faceless will be the stronger song. This is just the beginning though and it’s really hard to guess which will be the best song out of these 20 we have.

Review Fix: How was it written?

Graham: Faceless was written in a pretty unique way, DJ and I would send ideas back and forth with out friend and producer Tyler Ruehl and in the end I flew out to San Diego to Tyler’s studio and we worked out the kinks and finalized and recorded the song. Having that outside person to tell you when a part sucks and makes it better was a truly ideal way for us to do it and get the best product for the fans and ourselves.

Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of 2018?

Graham: We are working on a few run of shows and releasing a few more singles throughout the remainder of the year and beginning of 2019.

Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?

Graham: I think we just want people to connect with it because I talk about a lot of the struggles I’ve had or have in my own life and always try to make light of a dark situation. The music is a bit darker than our previous projects but the messages are always uplifting in a way. We are writing music we want to write and if anyone connects with it then that is the true beauty of art.

Review Fix: What’s next?

Graham: We released Faceless on September 15th, and will begin shooting a couple music videos for the other singles to come.
