NXT UK Coverage: Devlin’s Night

It’s time for the women to have a top prize. In this episode of NXT UK, we have the announcement of the NXT UK Women’s Championship and starting next week there will be a tournament to crown the first title holder. The women in NXT UK are hungry, and this tournament should be explosive to say the least.

Matches:

Sid Scala vs. Jordan Devlin: Devlin is on a roll, talks tons of smack and systematically beats down anyone who steps in the ring with him. Devlin put Scala away in speedy fashion with the Fireman’s Carry Sidewalk Slam. Post-match Devlin called out Ligero in a promo.

Amir Jordan and Kenny Williams vs. Saxon Huxley and Joseph Connors: All four men looked solid in this match with William’s babyface fire winning over the crowd. Unfortunately for him though, Conners is one mean SOB. Conners planted William’s face into the mat with a Cradle Face-buster, picking up the win for himself and the Musclecat.

Tyler Bate vs. “Mr. Mayhem” James Drake: The crowd absolutely adores the first-ever NXT UK Champion. The match went back and forth, with both men hitting solid offense. Drake’s size advantage proved to be useful but the “b i g s t r o n g b o i” wouldn’t stay down. Drake nearly picked up the win with a brutal Corner Dropkick, but Bate managed to kick out at two and seven eighths. Bate fired back with the TylerDriver97 for the pin-fall victory.

Ashton Smith vs. Wolfgang: Whoop! Ashton Smith has been impressive lately, but Wolfgang and the Coffey Brothers have been a thorn in his side. These big men uncorked their best stuff tonight, blasting each other with stiff strikes. Wolfgang managed to pick up the win with a Cutter Perfect-plex variation, which left the crowd confused and disinterested.
