Review Fix Exclusive: Arlene Zelina Talks ‘Dream of Me’ And More

Review Fix chats with singer/songwriter Arlene Zelina, who discusses her creative process, inspirations, goals and new single, “Dream of Me.”

Review Fix: How did your project start?

Arlene Zelina: I’ve been working on originals for a while now! It’s been a work in progress so I’m super excited it’s finally here!

Review Fix: How did you get involved in music?

Zelina: I’ve been involved with music my entire life. From musicals as a child, to television shows, and performances around the world. It all started when I was 3 and I signed up for my first dance and singing class. From that point on, music has been a part of my life – I don’t know any different!

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Zelina: Specifically with songwriting, I love to collaborate with different musicians. It’s so much fun when you get to talk through experiences you’ve had and come up with ideas together. Sharing the songwriting experience with people you admire and love is so gratifying.

Review Fix: What inspires you?

Zelina: As cliche as it sounds, I draw inspiration from everything that happens to me and around me. Everything that happens is a story I can tell. I’ve been through heartbreak, love and everything in between. And when I feel a certain way, the best therapy is to write a song.

Review Fix: What makes this album special?

Zelina: My newest single, Dream Of Me, is unapologetically confident! It feels really good to be expressive and honest.

Review Fix: What’s the standout track?

Zelina: Dream Of Me—it just came out last week!

Review Fix: What’s on your musical bucket list?

Zelina: I’d love to tour around the world with other amazing artists. Performing and interacting with fans is one of my favorite things to do. And of course, to collaborate with Beyonce. Duh.
