Last-minute Royal Rumble prep fueled a solid but unspectacular week of WWE RAW.
Matches:
Finn Balor vs. Braun Strowman: Balor nailed Strowman with the Coup De Grace but Brock Lesnar interfered and hit him with the F5 to give Balor the win via DQ.
Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley w/Lio Rush vs. Apollo Crews: After the corny pose down was over, Lashley dominated and won with a Spear.
Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins: McIntyre did everything but win in this lengthy encounter that saw Rollins win with the Rollup.
Jinder Mahal, Sunil Singh and Samir Singh vs. The Lucha House Party: Kalisto, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik: Awful match and an even worse finish as Metalik won with the Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker.
Baron Corbin vs. Elias Sampson: A hard fought match, but thanks to a cheap shot to Elias’ throat allowed Corbin to win with the End of Days.
The Ascension: Viktor and Konnor vs. Heavy Machinery: Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight: This was an old-fashioned squash as Heavy Machinery won with the Compactor.
WWE RAW Tag Team Champions: Bobby Roode and Chad Gable vs. The Revival: Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, Curt Hawkins Guest Referee: Gable got the win with a Rollup but The Revival beat on Hawkins before Zack Ryder made the save.
Bayley and Sasha Banks vs. WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Nattie Neidhart:Banks and Bayley worked well together and Rousey dominated, making for a fun encounter. While it wasn’t quite a mean event caliber match, it set up Rousey and Banks match at Royal Rumble. After Bayley took out Rousey on the outside, Banks was able to counter a Powerbomb into a High Knee and the Back Stabber/Bank Statement Submission combo for the win.
