Review Fix: How did you get involved in music?
Robert Arellano: My mother played classical piano when I was little. She was very good, and I wanted to be like her.
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Arellano: Focused and intense.
Review Fix: What inspires you?
Arellano: The evolution of human consciousness.
Review Fix: What makes “On Time†a special track?
Arellano: I wrote it for my daughter, and she’s really amazing.
Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you?
Arellano: Equal parts Nick Drake, CSNY, PM Dawn, Led Zeppelin, Beatles and Beck.
Review Fix: How are your live shows different from your studio work?
Arellano: The record was produced by Cameron Greider, and it shows the expertise of everyone involved. These days my live show is just me and an acoustic.
Review Fix: What are your goals for 2019?
Arellano: Finish releasing my EP (coming in March). Play out as much as possible. Put a band together. Receive new songs. Record more.
