Review Fix Exclusive: The Band Gooch’s Jared Talks Goals And More

Review Fix chats withThe Band Gooch’s Jared Gooch, who discusses the band’s origin and goals for 2019.

Review Fix: How did you get involved in music?

Jared Gooch: It started for us when I got married. I wrote a song for my wife with my brother and one of our friends and performed it on our wedding day. People liked it quite a bit and wanted copies. After that, we kept writing and looked for a way to record the wedding song, and instead ended up writing a rock album!

Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?

Gooch: Totally depends. Sometimes inspiration comes in a single instance at work or in a car, other times it takes a while to create a song. There are some songs that we wrote years ago that are still not finished. For us though, it is a collaborative effort. Jared does a lot of the foundation, lyrical and melody work, and Jordan does a lot of the lead and bass work.

Review Fix: What inspires you?

Gooch: That is a big question. Lots of things. Overall we just want to be happy. Music has always been such a big part of who we are, and this is something that we have always wanted to do so we are chasing who we are and what makes us happy. Music has a way of speaking and bringing people together on a deeper level. We want to be a part of that, we want to inspire, uplift, and bring people together.

Review Fix: How would you describe your sound to someone who has never heard you?

Gooch: Someone else once told us we sound like “Green Day, Muse and Queen all had a baby together to create this impossible band”. We like that.

Review Fix: How are your live shows different from your studio work?

Gooch: We try to make our studio work sound as true as it can, meaning we want our sound to sound just as good, if not better live. I think our live shows carry more energy, and we try to make them fun and interactive for the crowd.

Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of 2019?

Gooch: Well primarily a successful album release. We will continue to promote it pretty much forever. However, after the initial release, we are starting work on more music!

Review Fix: What’s next?

Gooch: Stay tuned and find out! RockNRoll Forever!

Review Fix: Anything else you’d like to add?

Gooch: The Band Gooch is more than just a rock band. It is a place where anyone, anywhere can come to be part of a giant family, where people can come to be their best selves.
