A beefy card and some solid storytelling and building for the future made sure this week’s NXT was able to hang with AEW.
Matches:
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Angel Garza: Ciampa won the fierce encounter with Willow’s Bell, but after the match, The Undisputed Era hit the ring with a USB Drive, which they gave to Mauro Ranallo, with the promise that there would be something intriguing on it.
Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan vs. Imperium: Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner w/ Alexander Wolfe: Imperium won with hard-fought bout with the European Uppercut/Powerbomb variation. Bonus points to Burch and Lorcan for hanging extra tough throughout.
Io Shirai vs. Kayden Carter: Shirai got the win with the Moonsault, but then was face to face with Rhea Ripley.
Winner Gets North American Title Shot: Keith Lee vs. Dominik Dijakovic: Roderick Strong thought he was slick getting involved, but with the no-contest decision, NXT GM announced Strong will now have to defend the title in a Triple Threat match.
Matt Riddle vs. Bronson Reed: Reed earned Riddle’s respect here before Riddle won.
Taynara Conti vs. Tegan Nox: Conti got squashed thanks to a Shining Wizard from Nox.
Boa vs. Killian Dain: A brawl that Dain won with the Wrath submission.
Pete Dunne vs. Damian Priest: This was a war that saw Priest elevate his game to another level and Dunne once again prove he’s a star. It ended up being a kid to the groin that allowed Priest to hit The Reckoning for the win.
