Kevin Lee Rock – Wind It Up Single Review: Rock n Roll That’s Full of Soul.

Rock and roll has a strong pedigree as a genre. Evolving in many ways through the works of artists such as Aerosmith, Van Halen, and Metallica, the progression is palpable. Kevin Lee Rock has done his homework and it shows in “Wind It Up.” A track that bursts with life from the get-go and never stops rocking. “Wind It Up” is an inspired track that takes fantastic elements from multiple rock eras and not only features them, but does it with its own charm.

From the top the rock don’t stop. With a hard-rockin guitar riff complemented by some crashing drums, the intro is simply electrifying. After the track comes into its own you are able to hear all the fantastic instrumental elements. The deep, groovy bass cradling the distorted electric guitar feels great in front of the slams of the drums. The subtle synths creep up behind it all, giving the track a feeling of constant motion. This comes together to create a great atmosphere that feels like it takes from both the classic style rock and a mid-2000’s pop-rock feel that will make your head bang. The vocal performances are spot-on as well. “Always said I’d do it my way, at least I didn’t live a lie.” Is just a single memorable line that is delivered with a smooth edge of the vocal performance. The vocalists never get lost in the hard-rockin riffs of the deeply distorted guitars, and their passion can be felt in their voice. You’ll be singing “Wind it up!” with him on every chorus. It might never leave your head!

“Wind It Up” begs multiple listens. From the inspired vocal sounds, to the nicely layered arrangement of the instrumentals, there is a lot to love on this track. For the rock fan, it is one to definitely check out and make room for on your playlist. “Wind It Up” is definitely not a track to be missed and deserves a listen from everyone else.
