WWE Predictions: How Much Can We Trust Them?

The WWE is wildly popular around the world. There are reddits and subreddits dedicated to storylines and leaks. And of course, once the betting odds get released, we have previews and predictions for matches and entire events popping up all over the place.

But when we are flipping through the pages of the internet and looking for information on these matches, how much can we trust the predictions? Are they worth us putting our hard-earned money down at the best sportsbooks?

Let’s start by looking at a November 22nd, WWE Survivor Series predictions article from SBR. The writer made three picks on the event. He previewed and predicted who would be the next RAW Women’s Champion, Who would be the next United States Champion, and who would win, Team SmackDown or Team Next.

Becky Lynch vs. Bayley vs. Shayna Baszler | the Pick & What Happened

This was a match between the top three women in pro wrestling. Becky Lynch, the Raw Wome’s Champion, Bayley, the SmackDown Women’s Champion, and Shayna Baszler, the NXT Women’s Champion. The three-way fight went back and forth for a while. Towards the end, Becky Lynch got tossed out of the ring by the Submission Magician but Bayley was waiting to launch a clothesline from the ropes. She smashed Baszler and it looked like she might get the win after Bayley countered Baszlers clutch with a pinfall … but Bazler didn’t let her finish and Bayley attempted a side-suplex only to get caught in-flight and clutched to a tapout.

So, who did the WWE handicapper choose? The Pick was Bayley at +200. The thought process was that Baszler has been the NXT Champ for over a year and so a loss wouldn’t be detrimental to her following. Plus, Bayley only recently turned heel, so a win would support he new character development. As far as The Man is concerned, well, she has been the face of the women’s division for a couple of years straight.

Roderick Strong vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. AJ Styles | the Pick and What Happened

This was a match that pitted the US Champion against the Intercontinental Champ, Nakamura, and the NXT American Champ, Roderick Strong. This one happened largely due to interferences by Zayn. AJ Styles took a guard rail to the face, thanks to Zayn and allowed Strong and Nakamura to go toe-to-toe. After Roderick Strong came off a jumping knee to Shinsuke, The Artist escaped from the pin attempt at the two-count. As he was getting ready to finish Strong in the Kinshasa, Styles came flying back with a massive forearm blast to Nakamura. After some more back and forth between the two long-time rivals, Strong slid back into the ring and got the pin on Nakamura, winning the match.

So what was the pick? The expert picked Roderick Strong +300 and won whoever listened some serious dough at 3 to 1 odds.

The reasoning behind his decision was that a win for Strong would help to establish The Undisputed Era, plus the price at 3-1 was too good to pass up.

Team SmackDown vs. Team NXT vs. Team Raw | the Result & Pick

Ok … there is simply too much that happened in this match to give a recap. But in Short, SmackDown won out over NXT and Raw in a messy match.

The Pick: Team NXT: The idea was that there are a few NXT superstars in the making and a win would help their continued launch. But it didn’t work out that way. Instead, SmackDown won and our handicapper in question went one for three in his WWE picks.

However, something to remember with all sports predictions is that you can’t just follow one pick. You basically run a 50-50 chance of losing when doing so. That said, any handicapper worth their salt will win around in the upper 50-percent to lower 60-percent of the time, so you should be placing wagers on all of their picks. Case in point, had you placed a wager on each of these you still would have won a unit.

Example $100 dollars on each of these would have been $300 risked in total, with $200 lost, $100 returned, and $300 won off of the Strong predictions. Leaving a $100 net profit. So, how reliable are they? If you follow a good capper and don’t cherry-pick their picks, they are pretty reliable at making you some money.
