Review Fix chats with Ghostatic’s Adamo Fiscella, who details the band’s origins and goals for 2020.
Review Fix: How did the project start?
Adamo Fiscella: I started a band years ago, as the singer and writer, and filled all the positions in the band with my friends. What I soon realized is that I was much more serious about it than my friends were. I didn’t want to micromanage people. I just wanted to create. So I went solo and began producing and singing, and rapping, in other projects. Ghostatic is my brainchild. It is written, performed, and produced by me.
Review Fix: What’s your creative process like?
Fiscella: I start creating the rhythm and melodies in my head, then structuring it into a song.. all in my head. It’s hard to describe how I do it. It just happens. It’s how I’ve done it from the start. I’ll sometimes hum things into my phone. I’ll sit on it. Maybe track a very rough idea with just some simple midi and a mumbling vocal. From there, it’s off to the races.
Review Fix: What’s your standout song? How was it written?
Fiscella: Currently, I have only released one song, Violence but I am sitting on 10 more. I think all songs I will release have a certain standout quality. They all contain a big vocal and a lot of energy and aggression.
Review Fix: What are your goals for 2020?
Fiscella: The plan is to release a song every six to seven weeks throughout the year. All have different sonic qualities, but being glued together and identifiable by my voice. I’d like to make sure these tracks are heard by the right audience, which is tough. Industrial/electronic rock, now, has an antiquated sound. I’m trying to bring that genre into the 2020’s with a fresh coat of paint, and a unique approach from both a writing and production standpoint.
Review Fix: How do you want your music to affect people?
Fiscella: I would like my music to affect people’s darker emotions in a relatable way. This may sound strange to some, but when I listen to songs with a dark or aggressive message it is gratifying to listen to and actually puts me in a good mood. I just hope there are others feel the same way
Review Fix: What’s next?
Fiscella: On top of Ghostatic, I am also developing a TV show, which I will be hosting, about the paranormal for a major TV network.. It’s something I have always been obsessed with, since I was a teenager. I wish I could tell you more about it but I have to keep my mouth shut until we get the green light!
