NXT TakeOver: In Your House: Kross Dominant, Shirai Wins Gold

This TakeOver event felt different than most. But the night was filled with memorable moments and an incredible main event sent the metaphorical crowd home happy. The show served as a reminder of just how good the Black and Gold brand really is.

Matches:

Shotzi Blackheart, Tegan Nox, and Mia Yim vs. Raquel Gonzalez, Dakota Kai, and Candace LeRae: Nox finally got some payback from Kai, pinning her clean with the Shiniest Wizard.

“The Prince” Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest: The Prince reminded everyone just how dangerous he is by dropping Priest with the Coup de Gras.

NXT North American Championship Match: Johnny Gargano vs. The NXT North American Champion: Lee came out of this one looking like a superhero after kicking out of a Slingshot DDT and three Superkicks. The Champ fired up and hit a pair of Spirit Bombs and a Big Bang Catastrophe to retain his title.

NXT Championship Backlot Brawl: Velveteen Dream vs. The NXT Champion: Adam Cole: The match was booked as a brawl, and a brawl is what we got. Dream put Cole through a windshield, Bobby Fish and Roddy Strong got kidnapped by Dexter Lumis, and a Panama Sunrise onto a pile of steel chairs put Dream down for the count. Cole just barely retained his title.

Karrion Kross w/ Scarlett vs. Tomasso Ciampa: Ciampa couldn’t get any momentum in the match and eventually Kross would lock in the Kross Jacket to put Blackheart to sleep.

NXT Women’s Triple Threat Championship Match: Rhea Ripley vs. Io Shirai vs. the NXT Women’s Champion: Charlotte Flair: Easily the best match on the card. Flair is at the top of her game and was an imposing force in the match. Shirai jumping off the top of the set was spot of the night. The Joshi Judas finally claimed the throne by pinning Ripley with a brutal Moonsault while she was locked in a Figure Eight to become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
