This week was another round of Superstar picks, but this time focusing on Championship gold. All the picks were show-stopping matches with a title on the line.
Picks:Â
Sam Gradwell: Great American Bash 2006: United States Championship Match: William Regal vs. the United States Champion: Finlay: As expected, the bout was filled with shenanigans, cheating, and was wholly entertaining. Finlay wound up retaining his gold with a roll-up and used the ropes for leverage.
Piper Niven: NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament Finals 11/28/20: Toni Storm vs. Rhea Ripley: This was a war and easily one of the best matches in the brand’s history. Ripley was a dominant force and Storm was the underdog that wouldn’t stay down, until she did. Ripley planted Storm with a Riptide to become the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion.
Amir Jordan: Summerslam 1992: WWF Intercontinental Championship Match: The British Bulldog vs. the WWF Intercontinental Champion: “The Hitman†Bret Hart: Every wrestling fan has at least heard about this match at some point. It’s become legendary and is a masterclass in the sport of Professional Wrestling. Bulldog won the title in front of a hometown crowd of 80,000 that erupted into one of the greatest moments in Wrestling history.
