Cat Dail – Red Pill Single Review: Smooth Rock with a Steel Edge

Rock with a groove has a knack for getting you to move. In her latest single, Red Pill, Cat Dail brings her signature vocal style to a head-swaying beat. With a smooth and mysterious personality, the track hits hard and has enough catchy elements to keep it with you.

The intro comes in swinging before smoothing out with the sensual vocals of Cat Dail. The bass grooves throughout the track, egging on the catchy licks of the guitar that make you head bob each time you hear them. The percussion gives it the pulse of a heartbeat, bringing life to its vibrant personality. The excellent break down towards the middle of the track does a great job of breaking up the pace of the track, giving you time to soak it all in.

It all comes together to give the track a mysterious edge, which works well with the vocal styles of Cat Dail when the lyrics hit hard. “Story, lies and fiction, an endless loop of friction” and “I take the Red Pill, shove it in my face. I hate the human race” are just a few of the lines that hit hard and stay with you well after the track is over. It has a very polished quality, with a feel that fits perfectly as the signature track to a Bond film. Towards the end of the track, the beat becomes almost hypnotic right before the final chorus, with the wavy instrumentals that begin to blend right before hitting you with the final lines. By the time it’s all over, you’ll want to load it up again for another listen.

Cat Dail delivers on an enticing new single. The track has top-notch production and is catchy enough to be a radio hit. The instrumental is on-point, with too many good moments to list. Everyone should give this track a listen and make some room on your playlist. This one might just sneak onto it.
