Review Fix chats with Dr. Dave and The Housecall Band’s Dr. Dave, who discusses the band’s new single, “Hey, Hey, Hey.â€
Review Fix: Question: How was Hey hey hey hey written?
Dr. Dave: I did not write the notes that are used as the identifiable notes/melody line of the song. The Roots( plus others) (see credits) wrote the melody line/riff. Myself and John Rekecics (sax player on song ) did the arrangement that made the musical riffs into a song .The musical line/riffs are what the Roots used as the introduction for Jimmy Fallon but it was not a complete song. John and I made it into a complete song.
Review Fix: How is it different than the other songs on the album.
Dr. Dave: It is a much higher energy song; a faster paced/tempo. More pop oriented with female vocalists for a sexy feel.
Review Fix: How was 2020 been for me.
Dr. Dave: 2020 was a banner year for me until covid-19 stopped all live performances ie….concerts,Live TV shows (ie The Tonight Show) , etc…But success on national Smooth Jazz Radio continued as my songs hit top 10 on the charts.
Review Fix: How important do you think Jimmy Fallon is to American Pop culture?
Dr. Dave: Jimmy Fallon is the most significant person in entertainment today. (period!) He is the host of the Tonight Show. The longest-running, most popular and first late-night TV variety show of talent in the USA that began in 1954 with Steve Allen to Jack Paar, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno,Conan O’Brien, and then the most talented of them all is Jimmy Fallon. Fallon can do everything that show business offers….everything. Stand up comedy, an actor in motion pictures and TV. Can sing, dance and play guitar. He is the culmination of all the hosts before him. He does it all. And that can not be said of all of the others before him. The Tonight Show introduces people to the public and makes them famous stars overnight. That how important Jimmy Fallon is to American Pop Culture!
Review Fix: What are goals for the track.
Dr. Dave: To get as much radio airplay as possible. To get high on the National Smooth Jazz radio charts ( which it already has done). And, to perform the song live with the Roots on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Review Fix: What’s next ?
Dr. Dave: I have another album ready to be released for next year.
Review Fix: Anything else I’d like to add:
Dr. Dave: Many musicians dream of performing at CARNEGIE HALL or other famous concert halls. As for me, my dream is to perform on the Tonight Show. The Tonight Show would be my Carnegie Hall.
