WWE RAW Coverage: Sleep-Inducing

RAW Underground is awful. Retribution isn’t over. The RAW mid-card is flat. RAW did nothing to make you want to watch Summerslam this weekend.

Matches:

United States Champion Apollo Crews vs. Shelton Benjamin w/MVP and Bobby Lashley: The appearance of Akira Tozawa, ninjas and R-Truth allowed Crews to beat Benjamin to ban Lashley and Benjamin from the ring for Crews’ US Title match against MVP at Summerslam. After the match, MVP and company attack, but Ricochet, Mustafa Ali and Cedric Alexander make the save. Shelton Benjamin, amid all this, nails Truth to win the 24/7 Title in a mess of a segment.

Angel Garza w/Andrade and Zelina Vega vs. Ivar w/Erik: Interference from Vega allowed Garza to get an advantage and win with a vicious Dropkick to the big man’s head.

Mickie James vs. Natalya w/Lana: Natalya won this one by count-out. The goings on between Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins ring-side were obviously more important.

Asuka and Shayna Baszler vs. Boss and Hug Connection WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley and RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks: Baszler got the got tag and beat Bayley with the Kirifuda Clutch.

Peyton Royce w/Billie Kay vs. Ruby Riott w/Liv Morgan: Interference from Kay allowed Royce to win with the Deja-Vu.

Guantlet: The Hurt Business: MVP, 24/7 Champion Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley vs. United States Champion Apollo Crews, Mustafa Ali and Ricochet: Cedric Alexander ended up winning the 24/7 title, but Lashley pinned all three of his opponents.

24/7 Champion Cedric Alexander vs. Akira Tozawa w/The Ninjas: Alexander won with The Lumbar Check, but Shelton Benjamin hit Pay Dirt to take back the title.

Andrade w/Angel Garza and Zelina Vega vs. WWE RAW Tag Team Champion Montez Ford w/Angelo Dawkins: Bianca Belair nailed Vega on the outside with a Front Slam, distracting Andrade, who was then Rolled up by the intense Ford.
