In what could have been a near impossible task of topping the firs night of Stand and Deliver, NXT not only managed to do so with four title bouts, but by doing so, paved the way for a slew of new talent to make a mark in the company.
Matches:
NXT Tag Team Titles #1 Contender’s Match: Killian Dain and Drake Maverick vs. Breezango: Fandango and Tyler Breeze: This was a fun one that saw Dain Powerbomb Maverick on Fandango for the win.
Unification Ladder Match for the Undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Title: Santos Escobar vs. Jordan Devlin: Escobar won the lengthy encounter, but Devlin made him earn it.
The Way: Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae vs. NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions: Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart: Blackheart won with the Senton in an encounter that showed off the chemistry of the champions, but also the resolve of Hartwell and LeRae.
Bronson Reed vs. NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano: Reed is an animal, but Gargano put him to sleep in a hard-fought bout thanks to two Super Kicks and two shots of One Final Beat.
NXT Champion Finn Balor vs. Karrion Kross w/Scarlett: Kross was dominant at times, but Balor worked smart and played head games. The smiles and snickers definitely got into Kross’ head at times and Scarlett tried to keep her client calm.
Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly: These two absolutely destroyed each other. With weapons, in the ring, you name it. It took O’Reilly’s Knee, a chain and a chair to give him the win over the former leader of The Undisputed Era. Easily a match of the year candidate.
