Lots of table-setting for Backlash and little in terms of engaging in-ring action and this week’s RAW was lackluster. Away from the segments with Randy Orton and Matt Riddle and Mandy Rose’s effort against Charlotte Flair, there was little to be excited about.
Matches:
T-Bar and Mace vs. Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre: This ended in a count-out as T-Bar was able to get back in the ring after the action spilled to the outside.
The New Day: Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods and Damian Priest vs. Miz, Jaxson Ryker and Elias: Woods got the win with an Inside Cradle in a mediocre match overall.
United States Champion Sheamus vs. Humberto Carrillo: A no-contest as Carrillo Dropkicked Sheamus over the announce table.
Randy Orton and Riddle vs. Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin: Riddle won with The Senton after an RKO to Alexander and the second rope DDT to Benjamin.
Asuka, Lana and Naomi vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler w/Reginald and RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley: Jax won with the Leg Drop after Ripley did the majority of the heavy lifting.
Mandy Rose w/Dana Brooke vs. Charlotte Flair: Rose worked hard and looked solid, even though you knew she wasn’t going to win. Despite her best effort, Flair won with the Natural Selection.
Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman: Interference from T-Bar and Mace allowed Browman to win with the Running Powerslam and get a shot at the WWE Title at Backlash.
