AEW Dynamite Coverage: Moxley Takes Over

The in-ring debut of David Finlay and arrival of Will Ospreay definitely made AEW a fun affair, but the fresh matches and great-in-ring action made it special.

Interim AEW World Championship Qualifying Casino Battle Royal: Andrade el Idolo vs. Austin Gunn vs. Bobby Fish vs. Colten Gunn vs. “Red Death” Daniel Garcia vs. Dante Martin vs. Darby Allin vs. Eddie Kingston vs. Jake Hager vs. John Silver vs. Keith Lee vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kyle O’Reilly vs. Lance Archer vs. Max Caster vs. Rey Fenix vs. “Absolute” Ricky Starks vs. Shane “Swerve” Strickland vs. Tony Nese vs. Wheeler YUTA vs. “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs: Kyle O’Reilly got the win to fight Jon Moxley later in the night for his shot at the Interim AEW Title at Forbidden Door, but this Battle Royal also set the scene for a few more mid-card battles down the road, particularly Kingston vs. Hager.

AEW All-Atlantic Championship Tournament First Round Match: Buddy Matthews vs. PAC: PAC won with the Black Arrow in a great back and forth encounter.

David Finlay vs. Adam “Hangman” Page: Finlay had an impressive debut, but got the hard-fought win with the Buckshot Lariat. After the match, Page said he wanted Okada at Forbidden Door, but Adam Cole said he wanted it. 

AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa vs. Marina Shafir: Rosa won a tough one with a Rollup but the crowd was dead for it. After the match, Shafir beat on Rosa before Toni Storm made the save.

Kyle O’Reilly vs. Jon Moxley: This was a war that saw both of these two performers beat the hell out of each other, but also counter submissions and strikes for almost the entire match. Mox eventually took over and won with the Regal Knee and the Paradigm Shift.
