Review Fix: What’s the hardest part of being a model?
Gallienne Nabila: I believe the hardest part about being a model can be the pressure to appear perfect. Our job is our physical appearance and how we use it to sell items. It is vital to not get consumed with the modeling industry which can develop mental issues, eating disorders, body dysmorphia and so much more. Being a model comes with having a strong mental so you don’t become easily influenced by the industry and the negatives that can come along with it. When you are working with other models, you have to obtain the ability to not compare yourself to them or anyone else. This can be natural human nature and everyone goes through it. You’re made beautifully and uniquely; there is no one else like you. Embrace that.
Review Fix: What projects are you working on now?
Nabila: I’m so excited to be working on many different projects at the moment. Especially the ones that aren’t in the industry because it allows me to have multiple streams of income while also having a diverse portfolio. I’m currently working on a beauty care line which I’ve been working on for some time now. Im excited to be working in the beauty industry as it’s something I’ve always been passionate about. I can’t wait to share some of my beauty secrets with my followers so they can achieve similar results. I am also involved in investing, real estate, acting and fitness. I never like to limit myself. These are all things I’ve been passionate about for so long, I’m further into some more than others but it’s only a matter of time before I’m thriving in each and everyone one. I’m excited for my followers to witness my growth and I want to encourage others to do the same. I want to help others build generational wealth. Having multiple streams of income in different industries allows you to become a well-rounded, versatile individual.
Review Fix: How are they different from your previous work?
Nabila: My projects now are different from my precious work because I’ve decided not to limit myself and my growth. I opened myself up to other industries (especially the financial industry) so that I am more than what meets the eye. I love the modeling industry and I’ve been in it so long, but looks fade. A good heart and a smart brain can last very, very longe. I want to emphasis ‘beauty and brains’ so that women can move more confidently in all aspects. When you have more to offer than just looks, physical appearance simply becomes a bonus.
Review Fix: What are your goals for the rest of this year?
Nabila: My goals for the rest of the year consist of finalizing my beauty brand, being in my first short film, starting YouTube, owning my first property, reading more and connecting more with my followers/audience. I have so many goals I want to achieve and I’ve learned that taking the time to write them down and how you’re going to achieve them is what promotes action.
Review Fix: What do you think people never see about you because they focus more on the external than the internal?
Nabila: People tend to judge me incorrectly based off my looks and It actually doesn’t bother me as much as you think it would. It’s actually a satisfying feeling when people meet and speak with me and are pleasantly surprised that I’m more than just a pretty face. We also can’t stop judgement and it is going to happen whether we like it or not. Knowing and embracing the idea that people will always have something to say or to think increases courage and fearlessness. You weren’t placed here on this planet to live for others. I want to make it a trend to be beautiful, smart and confidently you! Women are capable of being absolutely unstoppable. It’s all about having priorities in the right place and valuing your self to more than just physical appearance.
Review Fix: What is beautiful to you?
Nabila: There’s so much beauty in this world. Some of the most beautiful things to me are love, nature, relationships and nostalgia. Creating unique bonds with genuine people is an indescribable feeling. Childhood is so pure. Society and family is what shapes us as we grow older. I love the pure nature of childhood and reminiscing on those memories. I really appreciate the feeling of nostalgia due to technology being so different 20 years ago to now. I cherish the times where I had to write in-class essays, go outside to play, read books, play games with friends and so much more. All things with which we did without technology. I love the advancements that we have made technologically but I’m thankful to have experienced growing up in a time where that wasn’t the center of everything the way it is now.
Review Fix: You’ve traveled all over the World during your life- where’s you’re favorite place to live?
Nabila: I have traveled to so many beautiful contrives and I only want to keep traveling more. It truly is one of the most beautiful things you can do in life. You also learn so much about different cultures and ways of life. Some of my favorite places I have been to include Tokyo, Maldives, Monaco, Dubai, Iceland and Paris. If I could live anywhere else outside the U.S., it would be Monaco or Dubai. These places stole my heart for many reasons outside of the fact that they’re absolutely beautiful. Places I still would like to travel to and check off my list include Africa, Australia, and the countries, Greece and Italy.
Review Fix: Who has the best pizza?
Nabila: The best pizza I still have had to this day is from my home state New York. I’ve traveled and had pizza in many different places but none of them seem to compare to fresh, authentic New York pizza. I prefer the ‘hole in the wall’ pizza places especially.
Review Fix: How do you want to be remembered?
Nabila: I want to be remembered as someone who had a positive impact on people’s lives. I know I was put on this planet to help others by encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone and move through life confidently. I don’t just do this for others but I do it for myself as well. What are you doing on this planet if you’re not helping us ALL become better? I want to promote unity so that people can step out and be the best version of themselves while still supporting and lifting up their peers also. We are not in competition with each other, we are in a healthy competition with ourselves.
