Despite a wacky ending, this week’s NXT featured several key matchups that will build up feuds the rest of the Summer.
Matches:
The Rascalz: Wes Lee, Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz vs. Gallus: Mark and Joey Coffer and Wolfgang: A fun opener with plenty of spots before a Double-Assisted Double Foot Stomp gave The Rascalz the win.
Je’Von Evans vs. Brooks Jensen w/ Josh Briggs: Shawn Spears getting involved (Are he and Briggs forming a team?) allowed Evans to hit a Springboard Cutter variation for the win.
NXT Champion Ethan Page vs. Dante Chen: Page worked over a game Chen with Ego’s Edge before Oro Mensah attacked after the match.
Izzi Dame vs. Tatum Paxley: Parley got the win with Sycho Trap, but Wendy Choo didn’t seem impressed.
Lola Vice vs. Jacy Jayne w/ Jazmyn Nyx: Vice got the quick squash win here.
Out The Mud: Bronco Nima and Lucien Price and Jaida Parker vs. The OC: Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and Mia Yim: The Magic Killer got the OC back in business after a tough loss last week.
North American Champion Oba Femi vs. Duke Hudson: Femi got the win here, but Hudson shined. He’s ready for the main roster.

Hickey Jr. is also a voice actor, having starred in the 2018 indie hit and 2019 Switch, PS4 and Xbox One release, The Padre (also serving as English language Story Editor), from Shotgun With Glitters. The sequel, The Padre: One Shell Straight to Hell was released in February 2021- Hickey also served as a Story Editor and Lead Voiceover performer. He has also done narration and trailers for several other titles including The Kaiju Offensive, Relentless Rex and Roniu’s Tale.
Hickey is also the lead voiceover performer on Mega Cat Studios’ upcoming title WrestleQuest, responsible for nearly 90 characters in the game, as well as Skybound's Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood, where he voices both Dracula and Renfield, as well as several other characters. He also stars in Ziggurat Interactive’s World Championship Boxing Manager 2, where he performs the VO of nearly every male character in the game. He also worked on the Atari VCS’s BPM Boy.
