What do you get when you have less than 10-minutes of run time and tunes that’ll take ya back to the times when bands the likes of Radiohead, Dinosaur Jr. and even Devo and the Buggles ruled the airwaves?
A mini-album that is a huge tease, but an absolute indication of something wonderful in the works. Powered by three-part harmony vocal tracks, killer synth, tight drum work and memorable vocals and guitar work and Replaced by Robots maximizes its time and delivers one of the standout EPS of early 2025.
While there isn’t a sour experience on the entire mini-album “ALL THE LONELY NIGHTS” steals the show. It’s got the most commercial appeal due to a singable chorus and awesome instrumentals. At the same time, “Since You Broke my Ouija Board” has this Garbage/Hole feel you’ll want to listen to over and over. By the end of it all, there’s a mix of so much great work in here, it’s hard to not want to experience this several times.
Overall, this “mini-album” may be small in the amount of tracks, but it doesn’t skimp on quality. Producer Paul Q.Kolderie (Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, Radiohead)’s work is on here as the band channels some iconic glam rock and even punk elements into something that may in fact be an experiment, but needs to be developed further into a full album. Our ears deserve it.
