Thanks to excellent guitar work and a voice reminiscent of The Cranberries Dolores O’Riordan and Dido, Ditka has that “something.”
In three and a half minutes, Ditka is able to take you on an emotional journey. Her Slovenian accent is noticeable, but it never hampers the message. If anything, it’s exotic and add to the fairy tale feel the song has. Her first full English release, this is a special track for that reason alone, but the fact that she’s able to deliver something so resonating in “Fly Higher” is exciting.

It’s a scary thought, but this isn’t even her at her best. Years from now, this will definitely be seen as a foundation track, one that opened doors.
Simply put, between the soft guitar strums and Ditka’s “Oooooos” during the hook, there’s a gentle, yet striking mystique on this track that never lets you go. It’s an adventure of growth and self-empowerment, a track you’ll remember.
“If my life changes forever, will I still be me?
Maybe I’m not afraid to fail, I’m afraid to rise.”
Lyrics like this put Ditka on a level so many singers would dream of. But this isn’t a dream. She’s very much real.
Ultimately “Fly Higher” is an anthem you’ll want on repeat. Ditka is a superstar in the wings, a song away from consistent radio play and mega numbers on stream. “Fly Flyer” may indeed be that track.
